Based in North Devon and led by Artistic Directors Michaela O’Connor and Sean Kempton, Kook Ensemble creates contemporary circus theatre that combines storytelling, physical theatre, comedy, and circus to explore timely and human themes.
We’re excited to welcome them into the Landmark family and to support the company as they continue to develop their work. We’re also proud to strengthen our support for contemporary circus and physical theatre in North Devon and create more opportunities for this work to reach audiences in the region and beyond.
It’s been an exciting year for Kook, with their latest production, Sand, making its Edinburgh Fringe debut at Summerhall. The show had sold-out performances, received a range of 4 and 5 star reviews, was awarded a Bragi Award, and longlisted for The List Festival Awards.
